Money Trap

“A trap is only a trap if you don’t know about it. If you know about it, it’s a challenge.” ― China Miéville, King Rat.

There is a significant gap in financial resources between those who can easily afford extravagant purchases and those who may have to save for years to be able to afford similar luxuries. This showed that there are alternative ways to achieve wealth beyond just saving money, restricting spending, and relying on a salary. For example, Andrew Tate said, “When I looked up how much a Ferrari costs, it’s 250k+ and I started asking myself and my brother, ‘There are people who can buy these things, but why aren’t we?’ And imagine if you saved all your money without spending a single penny – how many years would it take to buy a single luxury worth 250k+? It’s a lifetime of slave work. Doesn’t that wake you up?”

High-paying Job

It is often believed that obtaining a high-paying job will lead to financial success and freedom, but this is not always the case. When you take out a student loan to pay for your education, you will be required to pay it back, usually with interest, after you graduate. This means that even if you have a high-paying job, a significant portion of your income will go towards paying off your student loan, taxes, and other expenses. Even if you can afford your bills and maintain a certain lifestyle with a high-paying job, you may still be unable to afford luxurious items or experiences due to limited financial resources. Instead, a significant portion of your money goes towards taxes, necessary expenses, and your time spent working, leaving little room for you to truly enjoy life and all it has to offer. Additionally, your job security may depend on factors such as the stability of the company and the performance evaluations of your boss, rather than just on your own merit, meaning that you may not be as financially secure as you thought.

On the other hand, It is important to use our time wisely and not waste it on activities that do not bring us joy or fulfillment. Even if you enjoy your work, it is important to consider that deep down, there is something else that you truly desire in life and make time for it. Time is a precious and irreplaceable resource, and it is essential that we make the most of it by pursuing experiences and activities that bring us happiness and a sense of freedom in all aspects of our lives, not just financially. Don’t let a job or other obligations hold you back from living the life you want. Remember, we only have one life to live, so it is important to make the most of it.

Some people prioritize earning money over finding happiness and fulfillment in their lives so people may choose a job or career based on the salary or financial compensation, without considering whether the job aligns with their interests, skills, or values. Or some people may feel pressured or forced to take a job that they have no interest in due to external factors, such as being pushed by their parents to pursue a certain career path because of the salary without the validation of their son/daughter. This can lead to dissatisfaction and lack of fulfillment in the long term, as the individual may feel unfulfilled or uninterested in their work, even if they are being paid a high salary. They may be willing to sacrifice their personal time and well-being in order to make more money, even if it means spending long hours at the office or engaging in activities that are not enjoyable. This can be a sad and draining way to live, as the focus is on financial gain rather than finding joy and meaning in one’s life.

Creative Fields

Even those who work in creative fields such as music artist or athlete, did not have complete control over their work schedules since they have a “Manager” who dictates their time, and have to work even when they don’t want to in order to receive a paycheck, but in order to make money they need to have a large audience or customer base. And athletes may be able to negotiate higher salaries based on their skills, which music artist don’t have a salary unlike athlete.

Even if they are now a millionaire, If an individual has been living above their means, relying on a high income to pay for their expenses, and they suddenly lose their job or quit, they may struggle to maintain their current standard of living. They may be forced to sell some of their possessions in order to pay for their expenses, as they may not have sufficient savings or other sources of income to support themselves. This can be a difficult and stressful situation, as it can lead to a feeling of financial insecurity and a sense of having to make sacrifices in order to make ends meet. This can lead to a feeling of being tied to the job and not having complete autonomy over one’s own time, which is considered to be a form of slavery.

Creative Fields vs Running a Business

It may be argued that running a business is similar to working in a creative field in that both require the individual to generate an income through their work and may involve the need to attract and retain an audience or customer base. However, in a business, it is possible to hire others to handle certain tasks or responsibilities, which can allow the owner to spend their time on other interests or pursuits. This is not necessarily the case for those who work in creative fields. These individuals may not have the option to hire others to manage certain aspects of their work and may need to handle all aspects themselves. This can make it difficult for them to find time to pursue other interests or activities outside of their work, as they must continue to produce and promote their work in order to sustain their desired lifestyle. And in Investing you could literally just sit down and start making money than others in a day, weeks, or months but the level of risk associated with a particular investment is ultimately up to the individual investor to determine and manage.

Understand the True Freedom

It is important for people to understand that time is limited and that relying on a job alone will not necessarily lead to true freedom. It is important to recognize that a job can often involve being controlled by someone else. Take action and strive for independence and autonomy in order to truly be free. Some individuals are experiencing more free and living a more lavish lifestyle than you, even though you are striving to earn a living and manage your finances responsibly. It be necessary for you to acknowledge this discrepancy and consider ways to enhance your income and improve your financial circumstances. Remember that gaining a deeper understanding of the financial pitfalls, can help you acquire generational wealth.

Conclusion

In conclusion, It is important to consider one’s personal values, interests, and long-term goals when choosing a career path and to make time for activities that bring joy and fulfillment. It is also important to be mindful of freedom and to consider building multiple sources of income in order to achieve financial security. Ultimately, it is important to strike a balance between financial stability and personal happiness in order to lead a fulfilling and meaningful life.

It is crucial to prioritize finding happiness and fulfillment, rather than just focusing on financial gain. If you are able to find enjoyment in your job over a long period of time without feeling trapped or unhappy, that is a positive indication that you have found a good balance between your work and your personal well-being. Above all else, it is important to make the most of your time by cherishing every moment and seeking out experiences that bring you joy and a sense of purpose.
